Air fryers are perfect for making afternoon snacks. Sure, they're great for heating up store-bought food, but they really help make homemade snacks shine.
With Game Day coming up, you bet we're prepping to make our favorite Air Fryer Crispy Chicken Wings or the best Air Fryer Popcorn Chicken (which is a Reader Fave Recipe!)!
Making pizza rolls from scratch takes a few minutes of prep time, and just 5 to 7 minutes of air frying time!
What are these pizza rolls like?
Depending on where you live, pizza rolls may look differently.
Some associate the term with rectangular puffy, doughy Totinos pizza rolls. These are the commercial kind that you can buy for super cheap in frozen food sections of US grocery stores everywhere.
Some might envision the round, flat spiral rolls.
These homemade pizza rolls are sort of like Totinos party pizza rolls, but also just their own beautiful unique food. The dough is completely different, because I used wonton wrappers.
Wonton wrappers are conveniently the right size and shape to easily make homemade pizza rolls, and they crisp up nicely in the air fryer. So the crust is thinner than American commercial pizza rolls, but also crispier and, I think, tastier.
What's in homemade air fryer pizza rolls?
- wonton wrappers - I use these mainly for convenience: they're the perfect size for pizza rolls! But I also like the crispy crust versus puffy doughy crust of store-bought pizza rolls.
- mozzarella cheese - Use your favorite shredded mozzarella cheese, or a pizza blend.
- pepperoni slices - I like these pepperoni slices, but you can use your favorite. In the photos below, I share three different ways that you can include pepperoni into these pizza rolls: full slices, sliced in quarters, or cut in eighths for even smaller pieces.
- pizza sauce - use your favorite pizza sauce, whether store-bought or homemade
- dried oregano - I like to add just a pinch of dried oregano to each pizza roll for added flavor.
- water - you'll need a small bowl of water to use to help you seal the edges of the wonton wrappers.
Exact measurements and instructions are in the recipe card below, but remember that this is a very forgiving and flexible recipe! Play around with different amounts of each ingredient depending on your personal taste preference. You can also experiment with different fillings. If you do, please leave a comment below and let me know what you used and how it tasted!

I make this in my Ninja Foodi 8-quart Deluxe multi-cooker. You can also make this in a 6.5-quart Ninja Foodi, a tray-style air fryer or a basket-style air fryer.

How to make dairy-free pizza rolls
Since I'm dairy-free and the rest of my family is not, I like to make a small serving of pizza rolls dairy-free. You know, so I'm not just staring at my family while they gobble up these delicious pizza rolls!

What is the best way to cook pizza rolls?
The air fryer is, hands down, the best way to cook homemade pizza rolls.
However, if you don't have an air fryer, you can also either fry these in a skillet on your stovetop.
Or, you can try baking them at 400°F for about 20 minutes.
NOTE: I have not made this particular recipe in either the stovetop or oven, so I cannot attest to how well this recipe will turn out using the other cooking methods.
How to store & reheat leftovers
Storage: Store leftover pizza rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Reheat in the microwave: place on a microwave-safe dish, cover loosely with a paper towel, microwave in 30-second increments until reheated.
To reheat in the air fryer/Ninja Foodi: place on air fryer tray, rack, or basket. Reheat at 350°F for 2 to 3 minutes, checking regularly so you don't overcook them.
