In a stand mixer fitted with a bread attachment, add flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix on low until combined. With the mixer running, slowly add the water and 2 tablespoons olive oiI and mix until dough starts to form a ball. Add flour 1 tablespoon at a time if the dough is too sticky. If the dough is too dry, try adding 1 tablespoon of water at a time.
Grease a large bowl with 2 tablespoons olive oil. Place the dough ball in the bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and place in a warm spot. Let the dough rise until it's double in size, which takes about 1-2 hours.
Once the dough has risen to about double its size, roll it out onto a lightly floured surface and then continue to top and bake using your favorite pizza recipe.
Notes
Best places to let the dough rise: I place mine in an unheated oven since my kitchen tends to be drafty and the oven is fully enclosed and not susceptible to drafts. Inside a pantry or closed cupboard is another good option.Total nutrition for two (2) 14" pizzas:
