If you’ve never been on a cruise, you might have visions of 24-hour buffets and gaining the cruise ship 15. You would be right…BUT! Today’s modern cruise ships are bringing top chefs on board, and new up-and-coming chefs, to offer guests high quality, creative cuisine.
On Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the seas, there are 18 main restaurants from which to choose. From beautiful and delicious edible works of art at Izumi Japanese Cuisine to elevated gourmet pub food at Michael’s Genuine Pubs to ultra modern inventive dishes at Wonderland, you’ll feel like you are traveling the world while cruising at sea.
Dynamic Dining Options
Anthem of the Seas offers two main dining options for guests:
Dynamic Dining Choice gives you the freedom to pick and choose your restaurants and dining times each day and night. The unique venues feature menus that change throughout the cruise, with guest favorites and new specialty dishes to ensure everyone at the table will find something they love.
Dynamic Dining Classic is a new option for those who prefer the traditional main dining style with the same dining time each night, with the same wait staff and dining companions throughout the cruise. Dynamic Dining Classic is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Since photos speak so much more about food than words often can, and since there’s a lot of food to cover, here’s a visual tour of some of the restaurants I had a chance to try out during my media cruise.
An elegant steakhouse dining experience can be found at Chops Grille.
Izumi Japanese Cuisine
On our last night, we dined at Izumi Japanese Cuisine, and it was truly a never-ending feast of incredible dishes!
Windjammer is the ship’s main buffet. It is LARGE and has all of the basics – bread, salads, soups, sides, desserts – plus main entrees featuring cuisine from all around the world. Before you enter, there is a mandatory hand washing station, too. I have to admit: that did help put my germaphob mind at ease while dining here one day for a late lunch! There’s also an entire gluten-free station, too!
Hungry yet? I know I am! I wish I could show you all of the AMAZING food and drink options on the Anthem of the Seas. Be sure to check out my video below for more drool-worthy food coverage.
In the next post in my Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas series, I’ll share some of the awesome family fun onboard this amazing cruise ship.
