Are you an early bird or a night owl? I confess to once being an early morning riser, but then I had kids, started a few businesses and blogs, and now I am a late night person. This works out well for my work, since I tend to write well between 9pm and midnight (after the kids are asleep and I can hear my own thoughts again!). Over the years, I have also become a late night snacker, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that I definitely have to be picky about any food I consume as part of my good night snack habit.
Cereal is always an easy snack or even quick dinner-in-a-pinch for me and for my kids. Kellogg’s Fruit & Yogurt cereal has long been my go-to breakfast cereal, so much so that my daughter has always called it “mommy cereal.”
The yogurt clusters in Kellogg’s Fruit & Yogurt are my favorite. I could eat a whole bag of that part of the cereal alone, but it’s probably a good thing that there are the flakes in there to balance out the sweetness. It’s definitely healthier for my good night snack habit than, say, a pint of java chip ice cream or bag of chips (err, not that I’ve ever eaten those things late at night in the past . . . *ahem*).
Recently, I made a #CollectiveBias trip to Walmart to stash up on more Kellogg’s Fruit & Yogurt, because *somebody* seems to keep eating more of the “mommy cereal” than mommy these days . . .
While I was there, I saw my favorite Kellogg’s Fruit & Yogurt cereals, along with two new Kellogg’s cereals: Jif Peanut Butter Cereal and Rice Krispies Multigrain Shapes.
I have to say, the Kellogg’s Multigrain Shapes are mighty tasty. I know these are probably supposed to be for the kids, but since the kids are taking over “mommy cereal,” I figure it’s only fair for me to eat some of the “kid cereal” too, right?
These are delicious, and I think I’ll be snacking on this cereal when I have to work late, when I can’t sleep, or when I am up late binge watching one of the many television series I am addicted to. This, in addition to my old standby “mommy cereal,” definitely holds less guilt when I’m snacking late.
Even just a small bowl of cereal can help keep my creative juices flowing and help satisfy my late night hunger while I am typing away at night.
Add a fun straw with a glass of milk to the mix, and it almost makes hammering out my To Do list at the end of each late night enjoyable . . . or at the very least, more bearable ;)
Do you like to snack on cereal at night? And do you have “your” designated favorite cereal or does everyone in your house eat the same cereal?
