Happy Monday, friends! For today’s Mixology Monday, I’m so excited to introduce you to fellow blogger Jacque over at 5 O’Clock Fashionistas. She’s sharing a Kansas City-inspired cocktail recipe that I know you will love. Cheers!
Hey all! I’m Jacque the girl behind 5 O’Clock Fashionistas. I’m a cocktail loving lady sharing my love for Kansas City, fashion, and of course cocktails on my blog! Today I’m going to introduce you to a KC-inspired cocktail.
I am honored to be here today and to introduce you to a cocktail with a kick. I’m calling it: The Heat of Passion.
The Heat of Passion Cocktail Recipe
Earlier this year I created a KC cocktail to introduce the Coaster 2 Coaster series. So, I wanted to make sure that this cocktail told a different story. I didn’t use any native fruit or vegetable or even locally made liqueur (sorry KC!) but instead I let the great people of this city influence my cocktail.
One thing you must know about Kansas City is that we are a passionate group of people. You will know this the moment you arrive. From our loyalty to our sports teams as well as the pride we take in how great we know our city is – even if everyone else hears Kansas and immediately writes us off. We may seem simple but man we will kick that assumption right out of your mind. Which, is exactly what this cocktail will do to you. (If you aren’t careful it might just kick you on to the floor).
You only need three ingredients (makes 2)
Pineapple (5-7 chunks per glass)
2 oz. habanero vodka
1 can of LaCroix Passion fruit water
The first thing you will want to do is cut up a pineapple (or buy the pre-cut pineapple) and freeze it. The pineapple chunks will become your ice cubes. You can trade pineapple cubes for actual water cubes if you hate to have fun.
Once your pineapple cubes are frozen put them in both glasses and add the habanero vodka. Top each glass with half of the can of LaCroix Passion fruit water.
Stir & enjoy!
