Christmas is coming, Christmas is coming!
What are your Christmas plans? We traditionally host Christmas Eve dinner at our house, and then we usually enjoy a nice, quiet Christmas just the five of us (dog included).
Each year we choose a different color theme, and we normally go for bold colors. In the past, we’ve done:
This year, to go along with my goal of simplifying the holidays, we went with a classic Gold, Silver, and White Christmas.
Here are some snapshots of our holiday home:
I made a really easy Gold, Silver, and White Advent activities calendar:
This year’s DIY Gold, Silver, and White Holiday Wreath features burlap ribbon, handmade tissue paper pom poms, white grosgrain ribbon, gold thumbtacks, and silver jinglebells:
This year’s DIY Gold, Silver, and White Gift Tags (sorry I didn’t have time to make these into printables for you this year, but will have them for next year! ;) along with coordinating washi tape and straws:
Found the best gold, silver, and white glittery ribbon at Target:
I made wine cork stamps for the first time! So easy! Tutorial coming soon :) Here’s the star stamp I made:
A gold, silver, and white Christmas theme is great because you can use so many home decor items that are already in your house, like these owl tealight holders and white pails:
Wrapping in gold, silver, white, and kraft paper with washi tape. Again, my goal was to simplify the holidays this year. Wrapping was super easy with this theme!
Our tree was pretty simple and so was our mantle. I had most of the decor from before and just added a few new little touches, like some sparkly gold & silver trees and large ornaments from the Dollar Tree!
We made our traditional Soft Gingerbread Cookies and decorated them with white royal icing topped with silver and white sanding sugar and white edible little pearls. I tried to find gold baker’s paint, but I really didn’t look too hard and just never got any. Simplify = no or less stress, so if I couldn’t find what I wanted right away, then it didn’t matter :)
I’m not in love with our holiday card this year, and in fact, to be honest, I think it’s the lamest card I’ve ever designed and we’ve ever sent, but the two best kids in the whole world and the best dog ever are on that card, so it’s not so bad at all :)
So there’s a brief peek at our holidays this year.
