When you go grocery shopping, do you just shop at the same store every time, or do you shop at a variety of stores depending on what you need? I shop at a lot of different grocery stores, and they each serve a different purpose for my family.
Grocery Outlet is one of five grocery stores I shop in our neighborhood. I love that most stores (located throughout Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Washington) are owned by local families, and that they are able to offer such low prices because their items come from producers who might have excess inventory from things like packaging changes or manufacturing overruns. They move items into their stores quickly and are able to pass on huge savings for quality products. Plus: the people who work there are so nice and helpful!
So when Grocery Outlet started the WOW alerts, I was intrigued. Have you seen these yet?
When you sign up for WOW alerts, you select your neighborhood store and give them your email address. Then, you’ll receive a daily email or weekly email (depending on which option you select) with deals on the most popular, best selling items in your neighborhood store from the previous day. On most WOW items, you’ll save 50% or more.
Here’s a sampling of a couple of WOW alerts at my neighborhood store recently.
I was so excited that I could get such great deals on two products that we normally have in our home: Cheez-Its and Method dish soap! (And yes, I have made homemade Cheez-Its, which I know are healthier, but when I’m feeding a band of neighborhood children as well as my own on a regular basis, store bought is the way to go!).
In my neighborhood Grocery Outlet, the WOW alert products are all at the front of the store. Super convenient. I know what I want to buy ahead of time thanks to the WOW alert emails, so I can just walk in, find the item(s) as soon as I walk in the door, and then head to the cash register. Love it.

Do you love a good deal? I do! I once stocked up on a dozen bottles of my family’s favorite BBQ sauce because it was on sale for less than $1 each! What about you? What grocery store favorites have you stocked up on when you’ve seen a great deal?
