Psst! I have a confession: it’s 7:32 pm the night before the last day of school and I am putting together our family’s teacher & staff gifts to give out tomorrow morning. Doh!
If you’re looking for some quick & easy, delicious goodies made from items you likely already have in your pantry & refrigerator, AND some fun, cute gift packaging ideas that are just as super easy, here’s a list of some of my Go To’s when it comes to homemade gifts and DIY packaging.
RECIPE: Snowflake Peppermint Bark
This Peppermint Bark recipe is SO easy and so fast, that I honestly just made it this afternoon while in a hurry, let them cool and set in the refrigerator while I ran to Costco for a holiday meal trip, and now they are packaged up and ready to go. With just four ingredients (white chocolate, candy canes, peppermint extract, and dark chocolate), these come together super fast, and taste delicious. My son loves these! We’ve made these in the past for gifts as well and people seem to love them as much as we do. Click here for the Peppermint Bark recipe.
PACKAGING IDEA: Clear or patterned favor bags, ribbon, stickers, washi tape
RECIPE: Best Ever (I kid you not!) Soft Almond Sugar Cookies
These soft almond sugar cookies are one of my absolute favorite recipes in the whole world. We always have the ingredients on hand, and they’re so easy to make. Most importantly, they are DIVINE. OMGSOGOOD. Click here for the best soft almond sugar cookie recipe you will ever try. If you don’t love it, I’m gonna ask you who took out your tastebuds. Unless, you’re allergic to almonds or don’t like them. Then, well, these are not for you! ;)
PACKAGING IDEA: Mason jars and ribbon
RECIPE: Caramel Salted Brownies
Take the average brownie up a notch with a layer of caramel and chocolate drizzle. I love these! Make a batch for your friends, and a batch for yourself. You deserve it!

PACKAGING IDEA: Clear food jar with ribbon and gift tag
RECIPE: Gingerbread Lemon Smile Cookies
These are a great twist on the classic holiday gingerbread cookies. I love the combo of lemon and gingerbread: the two flavors complement each other so well, and eating a cookie with a cream filling tastes just like the holidays should: sweet and decadent. PACKAGING IDEA: Simply stack and tie with a ribbon

Adventures in Dressmaking says
I had the same idea this year! I gave my coworkers these macaroons wrapped in cellophane and tied with baker’s twine. I had never tried doing cute wrapping on food before but it worked pretty well. Wish I had some cute, simple tags to add, though!
