The countdown is on. The struggle is real. Four days to Christmas. Eeek!
The kids each had their last day of school celebrations on Friday, and we gave their teachers little holiday gifts. I like to try to get teachers gifts that I know they can use, such as personal stationery, their favorite candies or cookies, and/or gift cards. I’m told teachers really appreciate gift cards to places like Target, Staples, and Starbucks. I actually don’t think my kids have ever had a teacher that didn’t drink coffee. I bow down to you, teachers, and imagine you must need a lot of coffee to get through those long days with our kiddos with a smile on your face!
Here’s a look at some of the gifts we put together for my kids’ teachers and school staff this year.
I have to admit that my kids loved these little mini Starbucks mugs so much that we got each of them one for Christmas as well! Shhh – don’t tell! :)
While the Bliss Kids were both at school, after I volunteered in my youngest’s class, I stopped by Starbucks for my own cup of coffee (okay, fine, it was my second!) and bought the kids each one of the adorable Starbucks snowmen cookies. Then I went home and quickly put together a little tray full of goodies to help them celebrate being officially on holiday break. I remember how exciting it was when I would come home from school right before holiday break – it’s definitely cause to celebrate!
Then we had a busy weekend of birthday celebrations, family time, and just hanging out with friends. In between, I finally finished sending off what I think will be the last of our holiday cards…although no matter how organized I try to be (spreadsheets, checklists and all!), there always seem to be a couple more people that I somehow completely blank on and send their cards off right after Christmas.
We also finally just figured out what we’re making for Christmas dinner and did our last big grocery run. Here’s what we’re planning to make and serve on Christmas night, as of now:
herb & pear stuffed pork loin roast
* Seafood Chowder
* a twist on my Scalloped Potatoes Au Gratin
* my mom’s famous Filipino Lumpia (because no family gathering is complete without it!)
* Filipino pancit
* veggies & dill dip
* a fruit, cheese, nuts, and meat try
* some sort of salad (we’ll figure this out the day of, I’m sure)
Soft Gingerbread Cookies
Some sort of coffee chocolate stout pie… I’m still dreaming up the recipe in my head right now!
We definitely will need to clean the house and create the tablescape for Christmas, but I’m not going to think about that until Wednesday. I realize that’s two days before Christmas, but that’s how I roll these days… there’s always so much going on, I can only plan so much ahead. I’ll just keep drinking my coffee out of my new confetti Best Day Ever mug from Starbucks and know that everything will all work out in the end.
I love this mug so much. It makes me so happy just looking at it! Here’s to a productive and HAPPY Christmas week, everyone! May yours be the BEST ever!
What about you? If you celebrate Christmas, what do you have left on your To Do list? Or are you all ready for Christmas?
I received most of the Starbucks products pictured here as part of the Starbucks blogger community. As always, all opinions and photos are my own.
