Portland may be revered for its innovative cuisine, world class wine, craft beer, and budding distillery industries, but did you know that Oregon is, and has been, also famous for its truffles?

Oregon has the perfect climate to grow wild truffles that are on par with renowned European truffles. For years, truffle harvesters have protected the secrets around the truffle industry in Oregon, but some in the Oregon Truffle Industry have been working to celebrate local truffles. You’re invited to attend the 10th annual Oregon Truffle Festival, with events in Portland, Yamhill, and Eugene, Oregon January 15 – 25, 2015.
I admittedly know very little about truffles, but have always been interested in learning more. The Oregon Truffle Festival features so many diverse events that showcase local cuisine, wine, beer, and spirits that help celebrate these exquisite treasures.
