Oh, December. You are so exhilarating and exhausting at the same time.
It’s only December 4th, and yet it feels like we’ve somehow packed two weeks into these first four days of the month. Most of our holiday cards are in the mail, thanks to Minted (enter to win a $125 credit on their site from our Day 2 giveaway!), our DIY Advent calendar is up and going strong, and I’ve taken care of most of our Christmas presents. I still have a few left to make and to buy, and if you’re like me, then I bet you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for in those last lovely gifts at Queen Bee.
Day 4 of 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways: Queen Bee
If you are in the Portland, Oregon area, then you are likely already familiar with Queen Bee. Since most of you fine readers are actually from outside of my lovely hometown, allow me to introduce you to one of my absolute favorite local brands. You are going to LOVE today’s giveaway!!
Queen Bee Creations
Rebecca Pearcy started making Queen Bee’s signature waterproof faux-leather bags & wallets with graphic applique stitched details around 1996. She didn’t set out to start a business, but her style and the quality of her work spoke to so many and, I think, set her business apart.
I met Rebecca years ago, and have always been an admirer of not just her beautiful work, but also of her work ethic, her commitment to paying her employees a living wage and having all products manufactured not just in the US but on site, and her clear passion for both her business and her family. Her business has expanded to include her signature style on large and small cross-body bags, purses, laptop sleeves, wallets, and more.
Queen Bee also produces Chickpea Baby, a line of diaper bags and accessories, and Rebecca Pearcy textiles, a line of home furnishings and home textiles.
The pattern below is one of my favorite, and these canvas bins are designed to fit perfectly into the ever-popular IKEA Expedit bookshelves (we have a few of those bookshelves… ‘fess up: you know you do too, or you did at one point!).
The Queen Bee shop at 3961 North Williams in Portland also carries accessories, clothing, paper goods, gifts and more from artisans around the country, such as jewelry by one of my favorite local jewelry designers, Totinette.
The production of Queen Bee creations also happens on site, in an open area right next to the retail space. It’s so nice to be able to buy high quality products made with full transparency, knowing that you are supporting a small business and local artisans!
Everything that Queen Bee creates and sells in the shop, both in store and online, is truly of the best quality.

Queen Bee quality
I have had my own Queen Bee bag for several years now, and it is still in AMAZING shape. I use it everyday, and trust me: between being a mom and carrying around all of the “kid” stuff moms carry, and toting around my cameras and work items, it looks almost exactly as it did the day my husband gave it to me as a present. I LOVE IT. And, I know that you will love your own Queen Bee bag if you win one of today’s giveaways!
